Join us for our August Literary Salon at Sunblossom Farm
Step into a centuries-old tradition of gathering for books, ideas, and conversation.
This month, we're exploring Inherited Stories: Family, Ancestors, and the Threads That Connect Us through questions such as:
How much of who characters become belongs to them, and how much feels inherited?
What stories do families tell about themselves? Which are left untold, avoided, or forgotten?
What do we inherit besides genetics or possessions?
Why do so many novels span multiple generations? What becomes possible when a story stretches across time?
What can literature reveal about family, lineage, or ancestry that everyday life often obscures?
Is inheritance something we simply receive, or something we can choose to carry, reshape, or leave behind?
No pre-reading required. Simply bring a book, essay, poem, or even a song lyric that resonates with this theme. Or come to listen. We’ll read, reflect, and discuss together.
Optional: We’ll help weed and tend to the land at the Sunblossom garden after the event in the spirit of reciprocity and thanks for use of the space. Anyone interested can stay, chat, and help.
