OUR RETREATS
Linger within a story…
Overleaf retreats are immersive, multi-day getaways for readers who want to dive deep into a single book. Each retreat is built around a carefully chosen text and offers time to read, reflect, and engage through conversation and shared experience.
Held in scenic settings, retreats pair guided discussion with creative and reflective activities shaped by the book’s themes. Place matters. The landscape becomes part of the reading, creating space to slow down, pay attention, and stay with what the story opens.
Retreats are intentionally small and thoughtfully curated. We take care of the details so you can step out of everyday rhythms and live with a story for the weekend, carrying its questions with you after you return home.

Previous Retreats
All Fours - Miranda July
October 31 - November 2 2025 - Mt. Hood, Oregon
Set along a secluded river near Mt. Hood, this retreat invited readers into an embodied exploration of All Fours, where forest, water, and quiet became part of the experience.
Through guided discussion, yoga inspired by the book’s imagery, ecstatic dance, creative sessions, and journaling, participants explored themes of identity, reinvention, aging, desire, motherhood, and change. Held by community and shared reflection, the weekend offered space to slow down, tell the truth, and imagine new ways of inhabiting our bodies and lives.
Wild Dark Shore - Charlotte McConaghy
January 31st - Manzanita, Oregon Coast
This retreat brought readers to the edge of the Pacific Ocean to deconstruct Wild Dark Shore against a backdrop of tide pools and coastal mist. We spent the weekend moving between the text and the terrain, using the rugged environment to anchor our discussions.
Between moments of relaxation and connection, we tackled the book's core tensions during discussions: isolation, grit, and the instinct to survive. We traded "polite" conversation for honest dialogue about what it takes to weather personal storms. It was a weekend of hard questions, salt air, and the clarity that only comes when you step away from the noise of daily life.
