Join us for our October Literary Salon at Sunblossom Farm. Step into a centuries-old tradition of gathering for books, ideas, and conversation.
It’s spooky season, so this month we’re talking about haunting. But not the ghostly kind…
We’re talking about the sentence you read years ago and still think about. A character whose words somehow became part of your own internal monologue. A passage you return to when you need to remember something.
Lines That Haunt Us is an invitation to bring the pieces of literature that have stayed with you long after you closed the book.
Maybe they disturbed or delighted you. Maybe they gave you language for something you couldn’t name yourself. Maybe you have no idea why this particular passage lodged itself in your brain, but there it is, years later, still rattling around. Together, we’ll explore what makes certain words stick.
What to know:
No pre-reading required. Simply bring a line that haunts you. It can be a sentence, paragraph, poem, scene, character, image, plot point, or even a single word. Or just come to listen. We’ll read, reflect, and discuss together.
Optional: We’ll help weed and tend to the land at the Sunblossom garden after the event in the spirit of reciprocity and thanks for use of the space. Anyone interested can stay, chat, and help.
